How does it work?
It starts with the Perso App. After downloading it, you take some clear photos of your face for the app to analyze. AI analyzes your photos and identifies your skin conditions, like wrinkles or acne. The app goes even further by taking your location into account. This is to assess the impact the environmental conditions have on your skin. These include the UV index, the amount of pollen in your area. Once all this personal information has been captured, the app will ask what your skin-care goals are. If you want to reduce the size of large pores or get rid of those dark circles.
The app then translates this data to determine what skin-care regimen you should use, as well as the right tone for your skin. Pretty cool right? Well, it doesn’t stop there, the app sends this data to the Perso device. For foundation, the device has three cartridges that will blend to create the serum of your desire.

50 Shades of You
The Perso device has the appropriate utensils to apply your personalized make-up that is cooked up for single use. The reason for its single-use is that some people use different tones for different parts of their faces. For example, some women use a mix of foundations for their neck, forehead, or chin. These small dosages are personalized for those specific areas. You can also adjust the SPF or moisturizer levels; in case you need that extra protection. The lipstick section of the Perso is made of three cartridges to create your personalized liquid lipstick. You can pick which shade of lipstick you would like, or you can ask the app to match your lips to our outfit or a specific trend. L’Oréal has included the consumer in the journey, creating a product that is personalized by the consumer. What possibly could be next?
