Who is She?
You might’ve seen her on a famous self-titled Youtube channel or doing TED Talks on why “Building Stupid Things is Actually Quite Smart”. This young Swedish inventor has taken the world for a spin by converting a Tesla into a pick-up truck. She has been a robotics enthusiast since she could flip a switch. One of the robots she’s shown on her YouTube channel can give you a haircut, another gives you slaps in the morning to wake you up. They are some truly funny and outrageous machines
Apart from her entertaining YouTube career, she designed a robot for the second season of the HBO series “Westworld” in 2018, a more serious project. While changing the course of her career, her life had taken a sharp turn after being diagnosed with a noncancerous brain tumor. She conquered it, with most of the tumor was removed, and thankfully never lost an ounce of her humor.
Revamping the Tesla
Giertz was drawn to the Tesla car due to its electric engine but wanted something more practical. Her Truckla needed some reinforcements to keep the roof from collapsing in on itself. Since the car uses a battery-charged engine, the structure was sound, and only mild adjustments needed to be made. Two other YouTubers Laura Kampf and Ric Rebuilds got involved. After gaining huge media attention, Elon Musk had invited her to the Tesla Cyber-Truck unveiling event.
Simone Giertz is inspirational for all creatives, computer-geeks, and ambitious folk to just do what you’ve always wanted to do. If you wondered a certain way about something, nothing is going to happen if you don’t try.
