Sherri Martel was born in Alabama in 1958 and became interested in wrestling as a young child. She started wrestling in the Mid-South after completing training in South Carolina. After recovering from some injuries, she joined the AWA, debuted in1985, and won the Women’s Championship three times.
Later, she joined the WWF, again winning the Women’s Championship. She was seen throughout the nineties in ECW and WCW promos, cheering on her clients. Tragically, Martel’s career was cut short upon her death in 2007.
