When it comes to non-cooking chores, it’s better to stick with distilled white and apple cider vinegar. So grab a bottle of each and see how you can use vinegar in the following weird and wonderful ways.
Insect Repellent
Apple cider vinegar is an effective insect repellant; put a few drops on your arms and legs or wherever the bugs are buzzing. A dab of white vinegar on an insect bite can alleviate the sting and itching and aid in disinfecting the area. However, avoid using vinegar on fresh bites.
Improve Bricks
If the brickwork in your house is beginning to appear dingy, fill a spray container halfway with distilled white vinegar and half with water. Allow several minutes for the mixture to rest on the brickwork. Wipe it clean with a towel or, if necessary, a scrub brush. Your bricks will be back to brand new.
Eliminate Weeds
There is no need to purchase chemical-laced sprays to eradicate dandelions and other obnoxious weeds.

Simply douse them with distilled white vinegar and voila, you’ve weeded out the problem!
Open Jars
Is there anything worse than craving a snack but being unable to open the jar to get to it? Vinegar to the rescue! Pop the jar upside down in a bowl of warm water and vinegar. In a few moments, your jar will be…ajar!
Thoroughly Clean Your Dog’s Ears
If your dog’s ears are unclean or look to be irritating your poor pup, combine four tablespoons of water and one tablespoon of distilled vinegar in a small bowl and apply with a clean towel to the inside of the ears.

The vinegar will disinfect and clear up whatever may be causing your canine to itch. However, refrain from doing so if there are any cuts or scrapes in the ears.
